Do we realize?
I'm not a fan of any politic figures, nor politic ideas etc. As tax-paying citizen, I do however keep my eye on what happening in our country lately. Event after event happened here without much people ever realize what's the impact it might cause us, makcik, pak mat, thambi, ah seng, etc.
Not going to list down cronology but enough to mention how it effect me.
1. Fuel Hike - people now preparing to face the fact that our government unable to protect us anymore. They interest on how to get oil-tax from petronas rather that care about what malaysian going to face.
2. Toll Hike - Government on care about it agreement with the shareholder (Khazanah too) rather than care about tax-paying citizen. I rather use RM40B money from subsidising petrol to buy PLUS from it share holder & make the highway free for all. Let people pay Rm2.90/litre of petrol. That's slightly fair to all even we are oil producing nation. Every citizen should entitle for royalty of every single barrel pump out.
3. 10 Nov 2007 - Yellow Wave.. A rally crying for help from monarchy institutions to do something on executives institutions which "rakyat" believed most corrupted in Malaysia history. Why not? Jack-up contract price, inflated compensation of cancelled project, military contract scandal, multi-billion corridors.
4. Juciary scandal - VK Lingam's tape, Sultan Azlan's call for the reform of juciary, Dr Nazrin's speech.
5. Media - ZAM phone interview with Al Jazeera on 10Nov rally.
Hey, that on small portion of it. Much more to list if I want to but as normal citizen, there's no shoulder we can cry too.. Just hope the things will get better in 2008. Let's us pray it will
