Seoul Garden @ Mahkota Parade : Halal?

It has been known that Malaysia consist of more that 60% Muslim in the country. And non-Muslims do aware on Muslim's sensitivity of halal foods. Eating out are now more than ever due to limited time available & people preference to try something new.

Government through JAKIM made effort to ensure restaurant & cafe in Malaysia are suitable for all. This means that if the restaurant are certified by Jakim as "HALAL", then they are capable to capture 99% of patronage from Malaysian. This also indicate that the restaurant & cafe should able to get customers from any religion/races.

Most people understand that halal foods are food that pork-free. In reality, it's more than that. Halal covers every aspect of food preparing, materials, equipment, people, etc. Islam through halal ensure that the food served to you prepared in a clean manner & of course zero elements of pork.

There have been a lot of halal certification in Malaysia but starting from Jan 2012, only halal certification from Jakim is acceptable. There is a lot of controversy on this, but the government decided to standardize halal certification so that it's easy to follow & doesn't differ from each other, taking example of ISO standards.

So, last month when I was at Seoul Garden @ Mahkota Parade, there is no Jakim halal certification. Surprisingly their pamphlet  which embedded with Halal logo has been blacked. Quick chat with the outlet person there came with below answer.

"We are in the midst of getting halal certification from Jakim"

Blacken Halal logo @ bottom
Surprised that all 9 families eating there, all of them are Muslims. It is their ignorance by not looking for halal sign-age but I'm more angry with the outlet manager not acknowledging patronage that their outlet yet to be halal-certified by Jakim.

As entrepreneur, they should be more sincere & sensitive to the need of 60% Malaysian Muslim instead calculating revenue every month. How much is the halal certification fee compared to opportunity serving all Malaysian?

Therefore I suggest all Malaysian Muslim NOT to enter Seoul Garden until they got halal certification from Jakim. It's a price they have to pay for such ignorance of majority needs. Not that I don't trust IFRC certification but I'm 101% confident with Jakim halal certs !

Muslim must show that we have the power to punish restaurateur who just want to make big buck without respect Muslim's faith.
