CIMB

I'm going to put it this way - straight forward.

The case:
I deposited a cheque with sum of RM2.5k over the counter at CIMB Jalan Hang Tuah for my daughter SSPN account using collection services slip on 16 Dec 2008. 2 days later, the cheque was cleared & according to PTPTN hotline, usually it will take up to a month to be appear in SSPN statement.

Guess what?? Until today, the money is not in SSPN account. I contacted PTPTN looking for explaination. They told me, according to their system, there is no such transaction pending. I then contacted CIMB call centre to ask about this. After few long unanswered call center, managed to talk with their call rep. They also do not know what really happend. Then instructed me to go back to CIMB branch with the copy of collection slip. They said to wait until further investigation.

My question is, why this thing should happen in the first place? The cheque cleared within few days but then gone without trace. The best part is, the having a difficulty to trace the money. How in the world a commercial bank like this operate? There is something wrong with traceability.

I'm not a rich guy. The money is not for me too. It's for my daughter education in future. Since I have no intention to make my daughter become "generation debt" which saddled with education loan without even start working. The amount is big for me, even it might small compared to those working in banking institution.

I'm very frustrated. Why local bank always like this? Not to say foreign bank is good, but somehow, their customer service really make my life easier. What's a purpose of email, phone, fax, etc if I still have to meet face to face with lazy bank officer to settle this? What's my right as customer if I've been treated like I'm asking them a bowl of rice?
